How-to: Postal Voting

All Malaysians can register as a postal voter as long as:

​

  1. You are a Malaysian citizen

  2. You are 18 years old or older

  3. You have a permanent address

 

To register as a postal voter, you will need to do 2 things:

​

  1. Register for a SPR account at myspr.spr.gov.my/login

  2. Once you have an SPR account, register as a postal voter

 

Creating an SPR user account

 

Here’s how to apply:

​

  1. Go to myspr.spr.gov.my/login

  2. To apply for a user account, select “Permohonan Akaun Baru”

  3. Fill in the form with your relevant details

  4. Upload a digital copy of your IC and a selfie with it

  5. Fill in the CAPTCHA code and click the acknowledgement box

  6. Click “DAFTAR”

 

Next, you will be directed to a page where you must check if the displayed details are updated and correct. If there are any discrepancies, please follow the instructions on the dashboard. 

 

How to apply to be a postal voter?

 

  1. Log-in to myspr.spr.gov.my/login

  2. Fill in your IC number, password, and the CAPTCHA code

  3. On the menu to the left, select “Permohonan Undi Pos” and then “Borang Permohonan”

  4. In KATEGORI, select “Pengundi Luar Negara.” If you are not overseas for working reasons, select LAIN-LAIN for SEBAB MEMOHON UNDI POS. Fill in the appropriate reason if you selected LAIN-LAIN

  5. Fill in the columns with the requested information

  6. Fill in the mailing address for where your ballot paper should be sent to

  7. Click the acknowledgement box in BAHAGIAN C

  8. After clicking DAFTAR you will be required your IC number and MySPR account password once again to obtain a TAC number

  9. Fill in the TAC number, submit the application, and you are done!

What’s next after applying as a postal voter?

 

  • Remember to check your application!

  • If successful, SPR will send you an email to inform you your application is successful.

  • After Nomination Day, your ballot paper will be mailed to the address registered.

  • You will receive a ballot package containing Form 2, Envelope A and Envelope B. Mark your postal ballot paper and insert the ballot paper into Envelope A. Fill in Form 2. 

  • Insert Envelope A and Form 2 into Envelope B. 

  • Return your envelope to the address listed!
